There are few institutions in the world of comedy as recognizable as Mad Magazine. This magazine was the favorite past time of teenagers for decades during the Cold War. One of the features in Mad Magazine was a spoof of international intrigue and war called “Spy v. Spy.” The spies wore black and white outfits, snuck up on each other to thwart efforts at sabotage and showed the futility of war in a hilarious way. Puma and Boston shoe fixture Bodega immortalize “Spy v. Spy” with the Spy II Hi.
This special edition of Puma Sky II His have been given the Mad Magazine treatment. The tongues feature pictures of the iconic spies in action. A black strip accompanies the Black spy on the right shoe with the White spy represented with a white strip on the left shoe. Tags that look like dynamite are chained to the top eyelet of each shoe to give the Spy IIs a sense of danger. There are other surprises in the Puma Spy II Hi but if I told you, I would have to kill you.
This upcoming release will set you back some serious money but it is worth it if you want a unique shoe. There is a limited number of the Puma Spy II Hi available and the Bodega name brings the price up. I love these shoes based on the theme as well as the clever touches added to the interior and exterior of the shoe.
Many sneakers have been using reflective materials over the last few months and now Puma has given the Puma RS100 an extensive reflective 3M treatment.
These grey and black shoes feature reflective materials on sections of the sides, as well as around the laces and toebox. I love the black and grey color combination, even if they weren’t reflective. But the relective material gives them a little extra pizazz. These sneakers feature a black toe cap, grey laces low and black laces up top.

The Puma Madison 2 Limited Edition has just been released as part of Puma’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
Two colorways are available – Black/Silver and Black/White. Both feature premium black leather on the toe and tongue. Silver dominates the sides and two velcro straps on one of the colorways, while the other one is white. Each features the ‘Madison’ legend in metallic gold on top strap, plus Puma and cat logo in metallic gold on tongue. The all white synthetic sole completes a terrific look at a great price.
Tartan (what most people call plaid) is being used in many sneakers as of late. Puma continues the trend with the Puma Suede Tartan Pack.
This pack features two shoes. One of the colorways is black with red laces and details. And the other shoe is the reverse colorway. Both of the shoes feature a red tartan inner lining. I prefer the shoe that is primarily black. However both of them look pretty sweet. If you are looking to pick up a simple suede low sneaker, these would be a good choice.
